California only recently passed legislation allowing for tax sales of certificates. With a 24-48 month window period only a handful of counties have any plans for certicate sales in the next 18 months.

Projected tax sales date will be after the April 10th deadline for redemption.

Tips:
 
Arrive at the sale early. Hang out in the parking lot and check out your bidding competition.

Come prepared with a cashiers check.

Be patient and do not get into a bidding war.
